Day 1 Summary:

We will discuss in depth, the use of force, according to California’s penal code laws and the new California gun & ammunition laws, including carry concealed weapon (CCW).

Day 2 Summary:

Tactical Pistol Workshop: No live fire, in classroom only. Firearms safety, the 8 steps in the cycle of firearms operations, weapon readiness, marksmanship fundamentals, presentation & deployment of firearm, firing positions and stances, tactical & combat reloading, malfunctions & stoppages, target analysis.

Tactical Pistol 1 (Basic) live fire, Tactical Pistol II (Intermediate) live fire.

Home Defense Tactical Workshop: Force Continuum & Combat Mindset, Close Quarter Battle (CQB), Team Configuration, Mental Preparation, Speed Configurations, Tactical Movement Considerations, Tactical Movement Commands, Initiative Based Tactics. Leap Frog Movement, L & T Shape Passageway Movements, Four Way Intersections, Hallways, Blow Through, Ladders, Fundamentals of Room Clearing, Tactical Lighting Techniques.

Combative/ Prisoner Handling Techniques: Patters of Movements, Strikes & Kicks, Chokes,  Take Downs, Escaping The Mount/ Guard, Team Containment, Weapon Defense (Gun & Knife). 

Day 3 Summary:

Combat Life Saving (CLS): Pressure dressings, Tourniquets, QuikClot use, Airway sustainment.

Tactical Pistol 1 (Basic) live fire, Tactical Pistol II (Intermediate) live fire.

Active Shooter Workshop: Profile of an active shooter, Good practices for coping with an active shooter situation, How to respond when an active shooter is in your vicinity & training your friends/family and/or staff for an active shooter situation. How to manage yourself and others in an active shooter situation. How to respond when law enforcement arrives. Additionally, learn how to prepare for and prevent an active shooter situation. We will be discussing and identifying recent active shooter events, and how things could have been managed differently for individuals to survive.

Day 1 – Night Workshop (Friday, July 17th)

Vincent De La Ossa

Served in US Navy from 1997-2017 as a Hospital Corpsman, attended schools for Field Medicine, Combat Trauma Medicine level 1, and level 2. Basic First Aid, Advanced First Aid. Attended 1 year course of medicine for Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman. Involved in Counter Narcotics Operations off the coast of South America. In 2013 I transferred to Seal Team 17 in Coronado, CA. Attended more medical training, taught TCCC. Deployed to South Korea. Attended weapons courses and received advanced combat shooting training. Following retirement I earned my EMT license, NRA Instructor certifications, and started working as the Operations Manager and Security Agent for an International Private Security company.

John’s practice focuses on assisting other lawyers in the firm on NEPA, CERCLA, CEQA, Subdivision Map Act, Planning and Zoning Law, Endangered Species Act, and other federal and state laws and regulations. John also devotes time to developing criminal defense and firearms law practice areas.

Devondria Sanchez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and has been in the mental health field for over 18 years. Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology. She also holds a Masters Degree in General Psychology from National University, and a Masters Degree from Chapman University in Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.
